About Ali Ahmed Al-Kuwari
Ali Ahmed Al-Kuwari is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Es’hailSat which is a satellite operator in Qatar. Having several years of experience in different positions he has been leading Es’hailSat toward success since 2011.
Ali Ahmed Al-Kuwari holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Qatar University and a Master of Science with a specialization in Financial Decision Analysis from the University of Portsmouth.
Ali Ahmed Al-Kuwari has over 20 plus years of experience serving in several leadership positions in various companies. Initially, he worked as a financial analyst at the Ministry of Finance and as a Senior financial analyst at RasGas. In Customs & ports general authority, he has led different positions including Head of the Finance section, head of Internal Audit, and Admin & Finance Dir. He was also one of the members of the Board of Directors at ESOA and Maomatia. From 2015 to 2019 he was the Chairman of the Board for Qatar National Broadband Network (Qnbn).
Role of Al-Kuwari at Es’hailSat
Before joining Es’hailSat, Mr. Al-Kuwari was Assistant Secretary General at ictQatar. He also held the position of Finance Director at ictQatar and was a member of the organization’s management team overseeing the strategic investment in the satellite initiative which became Es’hailSat. Al-Kuwari was appointed as the President and CEO of Es’hailSat in the year 2011. Since then, he has been providing overall leadership and direction to QSC in line with the corporate goals and objectives. He aims to build a world-class satellite organization through QSC’s investment in satellite design, projects, networks, missions, and other assets.
The impact of Covid-19 pandemic has affected the businesses of all industries including the satellite industry. Due to this all the major events organized by Es’hailSat were canceled or postponed in 2020 restrictions on travel, meeting persons, etc have caused delays in plans. The company’s core business since its start was to support the media industry with satellite capacity for DTH services. During such a situation the strategic plans of Al-Kuwari to minimize the impacts on the business are remarkable. He focused on redefining long-term corporate strategy and started operations as a satellite operator supplying raw satellite capacity to broadcasters and government entities, and gradually started supporting value-added services to our customers over the past few years.
