About Mohamed Nasr Eldin
Mohamed Nasr Eldin is the Managing Director and CEO of Telecom Egypt which is the first total telecom operator in Egypt. Since the day of its establishment, the company has played a vital role in the growth of local ICT market capitalization.
Nasr Eldin holds a BSc degree in telecommunication engineering from the Faculty of Engineering and a Master of Business Administration from the International Business School of Scandinavia (IBSS) with a specialization in Finance.
Career Journey
Mohamed Nasr Eldin, after completing of degree started working as a Product Engineer at HiTeknoFal. He was a Telecom Project Manager at ENCOM and handled designing, tendering, planning, supervising, and other network works in the company. At PCCW Global Limited, Eldin worked as an AVP of cable development for the EMEA region and was responsible for planning, creating, and building new submarine cable systems, new models, and new routers along with supporting sales in creative collaboration models. Later he was promoted to Vice President for cable innovation, planning, and management and became the Head of Subsea Cable Infrastructure.
Mohamed Nasr Eldin’s Journey at Telecom Egypt
Nasr Eldin joined Telecom Egypt in the year 2004 as a CDMA/NGN Switching O&M Supervisor and was responsible for managing the Huawei NGN network and maintenance for traffic, operating Systems, Databases, and applications and performing required network optimization with the cooperation with Supplier. After two years he was promoted to General Manager for International Business Development. He led the team for five years in Submarine/ International Terrestrial Cables and the related international services offered to the International Customers. Later he was appointed as the Head of the International Business Unit in 2014 for heading business in TE wholesales and running the P&L of global data service. During this, he took initiatives that contributed to maximizing Telecom Egypt’s revenues.
Nasr Eldin, having specialization in planning development, and operations of submarine cables and international networks was also a Non-Executive Board Member for Telcom Egypt for around 2 years. For his vast experience in ICT and contribution to the growth of the organization, the board appointed Eng. Mohamed Nasr Eldin as the new Managing Director and CEO of Telecom Egypt in the year 2014. Dr. Magued Osman, the Chairman of the Board sees him as an ideal candidate to take over the helm and maintain Telecom Egypt’s leadership at both the local and international levels.
Nasr Eldin was a Non-Executive Board member for different organizations including Vodafone Egypt, Egypt Towers Technology Services S.A.E, Post For Investment, Maadi Technology Park, and Telecom Egypt. From 2020 to 2023 he was a Deputy ICT Minister for Global Information Infrastructure (GII) at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology in Egypt.
Nasr Eldin has around twenty-two years of experience in the telecom sector, in Egypt and Hong Kong. He also holds significant experience in different fields of telecom including network operations, submarine cable investments, international sales and business development, global network expansions, global procurement and sourcing, program and project management, and international telecom management. Mohamed Nasr Eldin appears to be one of the most experienced telecom sector leaders in the region.
