The Spark of Curiosity

The journey of the Founder and CEO of Eddy Acquah Properties, Eddy alias Edward Acquah, was not any preordained path to fit into the ordinary role of an entrepreneur. It’s a narrative enmeshed in curiosity, mentorship, and intense learning, fueled by a pivotal moment that “woke up the eagle in me to think outside the box and transform my mindset”, shares Eddy. Growing up in an environment steeped in ambition, surrounded by parents and uncles carving their own professional paths, young Eddy’s mind was intrigued by the core principles of business, and he peppered them with questions on work ethic, financial literacy, and excellence. This innate inquisitiveness, a thirst for knowledge, became the bedrock of his entrepreneurial spirit.

But entrepreneurship wasn’t still on his radar until life handed him a microphone.

At his father’s 60th birthday in 2018, Eddy stepped into an unexpected role: event MC. Tasked with being the emcee for 200 guests, Eddy, with the help of some YouTube tutorials and a dash of his own vibrant personality, delivered a performance that surprised even himself. “People thought I was a professional,” he laughs, “but I wasn’t. That was the birth of my MC journey.” Six years later, Eddy has hosted over 600 events globally, including international engagements in the USA and UK, positioning him as an undisputed stage master.  Since then, Eddy has become the voice of corporate galas, weddings, and high-profile events, and his name graced the client lists of prestigious organizations like the British Council, Commonwealth Scholarships, GLICO, Deloitte Ghana, PWC Ghana, and many more.  From being awarded MC of the Year at the Ghana Entertainment Choice Awards 2023 to earning both Outstanding Events MC in Corporate Events at the Top 50 Influential CEOs Summit 2024, and the Most Popular Vote at the Ghana Events Industry Conference 2023, Eddy’s recognition spans the spectrum of the events industry.

Yet, it was a 2020 personal development summit in Cape Town that reshaped his trajectory. “The training woke up the eagle in me,” he reflects. Immersed in books like “Outliers”, “Think and Grow Rich”, and “The 48 Laws of Power,” Eddy absorbed the wisdom of success, leadership, and strategic thinking and sculpted a mindset primed for reinvention. This intellectual awakening, combined with a natural aptitude for connection, laid the foundation for his next chapter: real estate.

In 2021, Eddy channeled this transformation into Eddy Acquah Properties, a gold-standard real estate firm bridging Ghana’s prime property market with diasporan investors. Recognizing the gaps in professionalism and cross-border collaboration, he built a company anchored in trust, transparency, and international standards. “I realized there was a need for professional real estate services at the highest international standards,” he explains, “throughout the process of buying, renting, and managing properties in prime Accra, and that is the hallmark of our excellence.” Today, the firm specializes in prime Accra neighborhoods—Cantonments, East Legon, Airport City—and boasts partnerships with global bodies like the National Association of Realtors.

“Our vision is simple: to be the gold standard in property services,” Eddy declares.

Professionally, he aims to lead the Eddy Acquah Group of Companies, venturing into event centers and global markets while mentoring emerging entrepreneurs. Personally, he seeks deeper work-life harmony, global travel, and philanthropic impact.

“Success isn’t a sprint—it’s a marathon of purpose,” asserts Eddy. His advice to aspirants? Focus on the 4Ps: Purpose, People, and Product, with Profit following as a natural outcome. He urges entrepreneurs to build their businesses on a foundation of trust, honesty, and integrity.  “You don’t have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great,” he echoes Zig Ziglar.
